“Kids and Art for Ukraine” is a charitable art project organised by SECD charity fund in response to the war in Ukraine and supported by the Community Initiative programme of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Since July 2022 we have conducted a number of fundraising art events where all proceeds were tripled by the Bank. Our main aim is to support Ukrainian children who are affected by war and help them to continue their educational and professional growth. We also provide humanitarian aid to all those who struggle from the affects of the Russian aggression.
One of our first humanitarian aids was delivered to the liberated Kherson in December 2022. The situation there was heart breaking and beyond any imagination. Thanks to all generous donations we were able to provide food, warm cloths and generators to orphanages and help Ukrainian people to survive horrible, cold winter in complete blackout. Thanks to everyone who supports our project, we could bring warmth and a bit of joy to people of Ukraine.
“Kids and Art for Ukraine” became a place of unity and support. Despite having lived through one year of this horrific war all the paintings are made with love and hope, and bring such a great positive energy and confidence to all of us. We all believe that the peace will win over the war and light over the darkness. We are so proud to share that with the help of our generous donors and supporters we were able to provide art supplies to 420 children across 27 educational centres in Ukraine. At the same time we provide enormous humanitarian help by opening Six Art Centres of Invincibility across Ukraine – in Donetsk, Sumy, Kyiv, Volyn, Ternopil regions and city of Poltava. We handed over 6 generators, 15 power banks, 19 rechargeable lamps and 30 heaters at a total cost of £4,164.
In January and February 2023 alone we have managed to provide humanitarian aid totalling £17,311. The main mission of our fund remains unchanged. Despite the hardships of the war children should continue their art education, create and express themselves in order to cope with various emotions and hardships during the war. Children simply deserve to have childhood.
Thanks to the partnership with the community initiative of the EBRD, all donations were tripled. We had and still have a great opportunity to help Ukrainian children to show their talents and partially return their stolen childhood. Thanks to all our supporters - without you it would not be possible.
All the artwork of the exposition "100 paintings of children of Unbreakable Ukraine" were produced in extremely difficult conditions in January 2023. But if you look at them – you will notice how bright and positive they are. They are about hope, love and peaceful future!
If you want to become a part of someone’s smile today in Ukraine – have a look at these truly wonderful masterpieces and support those who are fighting against darkness and injustice. We all believe that Goodness will prevail!
